a live reading of a stage play written by Emily Ramsay, co-hosted by Amanda Earl and Jennifer Mulligan

Maria decides to finally come out to her friends but surprise, surprise, she isn't the only one with a secret! This uncensored, one-act stage play looks at the comedic side of a coming out story that goes horribly wrong-ish.

with music by Marie-Josée Houle

Emily works in film & tv in the Ottawa area and is the Co-Executive Director of the Digi60 Filmmakers' Festival. She graduated from the Algonquin College Scriptwriting program with Honours, where she was able to take a passion and turn it into a career. Emily has won a couple awards, and she and Derek (her work and life partner) have created dozens of short films with Say Ten Productions - some of which have been played at varying festivals around the world. She likes to focus on stories that are about real women with real and varying experiences, and often draws her inspiration from those around her. Emily & Derek are currently working on developing their first feature film, Marianna. Coffee with a Lesbian is her first foray into writing for the stage.

Born in Val d‘Or, Quebec and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Marie-Josée Houle celebrates her dual cultural roots through music. Singing and writing in both English and French, she brings the Townships to the Prairies and beyond. No polkas or foxtrots for this accordion diva; instead, she combines her classical, punk rock, and French cabaret sensibilities into one sultry stew of sound.

Jennifer Mulligan is a screenwriter from the Outaouais. She co-runs Digi60 Filmmakers' Festival, which is celebrating thirteen years of supporting new and emerging filmmakers in Ottawa. Find her at jennifermulligan.com.
